A bank of powder nozzles is rotated about the pipe, carried by the robot at a speed matched with the rate of powder flow.
The deposit of material is matched to achieve the required thickness inside the specified cure rate.
The rotational speed is under precise control and several orbits of the pipe are possible to build the required thickness.
Due to the ability to quickly swap out coating robots, it is a simple matter to apply the anti-corrosion coat followed by an abrasion resistant outer coat (ARO).
The powder is supplied from fluid beds, optimised for uniform powder flow, with minimal waste and impact to the immediate environment.
Using an advanced electronic pressure regulator, each powder nozzle can be operated at slightly differing outputs to deliberately enhance deposition in localised regions such as the girth weld area.
